I'm a codgy old fool, about three years behind in terms of knowing the ins and outs of this website.
Five years ago, I cared about pageviews, favorites, comments, and acquiring watchers. I used to say things like "Thanks for the fave!!!" and other such blabulous drivel. Then, one day back in 2005, I posted a stupid joke doodle of a scrap...it now has 212 favorites, 63 comments, and has been viewed 11,659 times. No, wait, 11,660 times (someone viewed it as I was typing this entry). Fifteen people have looked at that damn scrap today. I haven't even seen fifteen people today. The deviations I worked hard on? The comparison is a joke. Those all average about 5 favorites, 5 comments, and 65 views total. So, the exploding popularity of that silly scrap is the reason I really don't care about the social aspects of this site anymore. If you favorite anything of mine, don't expect thanks. If you decide to watch me, don't expect any updates in a timely fashion, and don't expect me to feel at all bad for not updating in months and months.
In short, I am an internet jerk.
